I was on vacation with my family all last week, and was busy packing and getting ready the week before that, so it’s been awhile since the last post. We went on a cruise to Alaska with my parents, and it was every bit as breathtaking as everyone says. Our ship didn’t go further north than the strip of land and islands that borders British Columbia, but even that was vast. In both area and number of islands, the Alexander Archipelago is more than 10 times the size of Puget Sound (where I live). We saw bears and whales and even a few sharks. And in Glacier Bay there were rafts of sea otters floating serenely past us all the time, 50 or 60 at a time. It was magical.
Just one page this week. And also a sketch of one of the glaciers coming down out of the mountains in Glacier Bay. We took an obscene amount of photos during the trip, so expect to see a lot of Alaska sketches over the next few posts. :)
