Some rabbit studies I’ve been tinkering with. The kid and I recently finished Watership Down, and I can’t believe it took me this long to read it. So many memorable characters and such beautiful, lyrical prose. We were having trouble moving on from Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig and the rest, so now we’re reading Tales from Watership Down, which is a bunch of connected shorter stories with the same characters.
I’d never really looked at rabbits very closely until I tried drawing these ones. You can just tell they know exactly how cute they are and will fully use that to distract and dazzle you long enough to steal your stuff, while not caring in the least how you feel about any of it. Also, those ears. I kind of want one.
