After I did the Beverly Cleary portrait my wife asked if I'd do one of our dog Sophie with Ribsy from the books. So I did a few.
I didn't realize there had been so many versions of Ribsy over the years. I think my favorite is the one by Louis Darling. He made Ribsy especially scraggly looking. The two with Ribsy alone were sketches I did from the books themselves to get a feel for drawing him first, the others I adapted from dog photos I found on the internet.
