I'm reading The Sea, the Sea by Iris Murdoch right now, and stayed up too late last night working on the sketch on the left. Done in wax crayon, and ended up too layered and just overwrought, and kind of leveled and diminished that beautiful Irish nose. So I did the one on the right in much looser strokes with a clutch pencil this morning in about 15 minutes. Captures her a little better I think.
